INTRODUCTION: Summary of previous broadcast If you are saved, the
following notes may be a help to you
I. The Need and Reasons for Salvation from. Sin and Its Penalty in the
Lake of Fire.
A. Every Human's Natural Disposition is sinful and willful and
disobedient to God (Rom. 8 7; Eph. 2:2). The natural tendency of
every person is to go away from God (Isa. 53:6; Rom. 3:10-18,23).
B. Every Human's Natural Spiritual Condition is dead to God and to
spiritual things (Eph. 2:1-3; 1 Cor. 2:14; Col. 2:13).
C. Every Human's spiritual relationship is negative to God Who considers
him or her to be a bondslave of Sin by repeatedly sinning and Jesus
called such a child of Satan, the Devil (Jn. 8:34,44; Rom. 6:16; 7:14).
A slave is: one born into slavery - a sinner born into sin; one who has a
permanent relationship with his master that only death can break; one
whose will is swallowed up in another; one devoted to another to the
disregard of one's own interests.
II. Two Aspects in regard to sonship relation to God:
A. The Sovereignty of God in the matter of Salvation includes two aspects:
1. His authority and dominion to determine the future and destiny of
every human, because He is Creator of all things (Eph. 3:9; Rev. 4:11).
His Holiness and righteousness demands that He judge and punish sin
and the sinner.
2. His provision of a means to save every human and make him to
become a new creature fit to dwell with Himself forever in His
presence in the perfect, sinless Heaven.
a. His love demands He provide a way to save sinful humans, which
He did through The Lord Jesus Christ, The Savior by: His sacrificial,
substitutionary death, shedding His blood and enduring the wrath of
God upon sin on the cross of Calvary; rising again from the dead on
the third day and ascending into Heaven to apply His blood on the
Mercyseat in order to forgive your sins, clear you from all guilt, and
declare you righteous in Christ. By doing all this He redeems the
sinner who unreservedly commits trust and makes him or her fit for
Heaven.
b. But a sonship relation with God requires New Birth or regeneration
(Jn. 3:1-7). However God in His love also provided for this
requirement. He sent His Holy Spirit as He promised in the day of
Pentecost, in the fiftieth day after The Lord Jesus rose again from the
dead. It is The Holy Spirit Who works the new birth in the lives of
as many as fulfill their human responsibility toward The Lord Jesus
Christ (Jn. 1:12) and appropriate His work for them: on Calvary and
in Heaven on the Day of His Resurrection (Acts 13:33: Heb. 5:5,6;
9: 11-14).
B. The Responsibility of Every Human is to respond to the call of The Lord
Jesus Christ appropriate His work of Salvation and then become a
disciple of His.
1. Seventeen times the call of Jesus rings out, Follow me! Disciples
follow their master. Jesus commanded His disciples to make disciples.
He told the multitude of Jews, "The sheep belonging to Me are contin-
ually hearing My call and I Myself continually know them and they
continually follow Me. And I Myself continually give eternal absolute
life to them and they shall positively not perish for ever and not anyone
shall snatch them out of My hand" (John 10:27,28). Therefore you
must be willing to follow Him.
2. Five actions or steps are necessary in order to appropriate the work
of salvation that Jesus finished for you. The first four of these are to be
fulfilled at the same time and the last one to be a continuing follow-up
action:
a. Repent (Acts 17:30).
b. Confess your guilt as a sinner deserving eternal punishment in the
Lake of Fire (Luke 18:13).
c. Unreservedly commit your life To Christ (Rom. 10:9,10).
d. Receive Him as your Savior (John 1:12; Col. 2: 6).
To take these four steps together, first answer these questions, Am I
ready and willing to repent and turn from my own sinful way and go
God's way as He enables me?
If, No! Then you are not yet ready to get saved!
Do not pursue the other steps until you can honestly and
sincerely say yes because The Lord Jesus said, "Unless
you repent you shall likewise perish as others perished!"
(Luke 13:3,5)
If, Yes! Then ask, Am I ready to confess that I am a lost guilty
sinner, deserving God's wrath and eternal punishment in the Lake
of Fire?
If, Yes! Then ask, Am I ready and willing to die to myself and my
past life and have my enslavement to Sin and Satan ended by
Christ's redemption so I can become a bondslave to The Lord Jesus
Christ, continually follow Him as one of His sheep and a disciple and
persistently do the will of God?
If, Yes! Then ask, Am I ready to unreservedly commit myself to The
Lord Jesus Christ? Do I Believe:
in Him with my whole heart?
That He bled and died as my substitute and Savior?
That he endured God's wrath that was my due?
That he shed his blood to wash my sins away?
That He was buried, rose again to give me new life and applied His
blood on the Mercy Seat in Heaven?
That He wants to save me now? If, Yes!
Then Get on your knees, bow your head, and cry out for mercy and
humbly pray the little prayer that is found on the back of one of the
tracts on the Happy Heralds web site. Or better still repeat after me
only if you can mean the words from the bottom of your heart.
(Prayer found on back of Say, Friend, Don't Risk! Believe It or not!)
Have you done this? Are you saved? Are you now a child of God?
If, Yes, Happy birthday! Today new life begins for you. Send for a
decision card or down load one from our web site. Fill it out! Sign
your name and date it! It will serve as a reminder of your spiritual
birthday.
Now You are ready for the fifth action in response to the work that
The Lord Jesus Christ accomplished.
e. Publicly and openly confess the Lord Jesus Christ (Rom. 10:9,10;
Matt. 10:32,33).
Conclusion: We have first explained the natural disposition, the spiritual
condition, and the spiritual relationship of every human from God's
viewpoint. We then considered aspects in regard to a sonship relation to
God: The Sovereignty of God and The Responsibility of Every Human.
We summarized the authority and dominion of God to determine the
future and destiny of all He created. His holiness and righteousness
demands that He judge and punish sin and the sinner. His love demands
He provide a way to save sinful humans. We briefly stated what was
involved in this provision which Christ made. Then we examined what
is involved for every human to fulfill one's responsibility . Now it is up
to you as to how you respond. If we can be of help, please contact us!
