NOTES ON CHRONOLOGY:

DAYS NUMERICALLY DESCRIBED.pdf
About These Notes: Explanation Pending!

NOTES ON BEING AVAILABLE FOR THE GOD TO USE!
About These Notes: These notes explain the plan The Lord Jesus Christ progressively revealed for building His worldwide Church. Since The Lord Jesus Christ stated, "I shall build My Church", He began progressively to give details on how and what was required to build His Church bit by bit. Since He did not clearly lay out His plans and label them as such, nor give them the whole picture at once, it is not an indication that He did not have plans for his disciples or did not care that they know what the plans are, and even that they cannot help Him build without knowing and following those plans. But how are we to know since He did not explain them explicitly to His first disciples.
Just as we must dig into (investigate) The Word of The God and study the plans The Lord Jesus gave to His disciples if we are to learn how to obey the mandate and make disciples, so also we must dig into (investigate) The Scriptures and study His Church and His plans for building His Church if we are to be fellow workers with Him, otherwise our labor and our works though good and beneficial in the eyes of man they are counted as unfruitful works of the dark in the eyes of The God (Eph.5:9-11).
This paper analyzes how The Lord Jesus Christ progressively revealed His plans to build His Church to His disciples and what qualifications they must meet to partake in building with Him as fellow workers. This paper also explains how His workers must prepare in order to be fit and readily available to be used as fellow workers through testifying as judicial witnesses, proclamation as heralds, recruiting more fellow workers by discipling others and then baptizing them, and by planting churches by congregating the ones they discipled, baptized, and publicly taught sound doctrine.

NOTES ON DISCIPLESHIP:

STEWARDSHIP SEMINAR

This study is comprised of Scriptures, notes and explanation of the teaching of The Scriptures which the author has accumulated and used in several ten-day Stewardship Seminars in Australia over a period of eleven years. This challenging study includes: The Concept of Stewardship, The Comprehension of Stewardship, The Conflicts of Stewardship, The Consequences of Stewardship, Christ’s Teaching on Encroaching Materialism, The Choice of Servitude, and The Concept of Giving. The following Questions will be answered:

What is stewardship according to Scripture and how The God views it?

How is economy is included in responsibility?

What is a steward as used in Scripture?

What is the extent of our accountability to The God?

How does the totality of your life and your works relate to stewardship?

What is your responsibility to the teaching (Truth) you have received?

How are you to manage your life in regard to time?

How are you to manage your affairs in regard to your: talents, tasks, talk, and treasures?

How is a regenerated redeemed child of The God to set priorities in life?

What are the consequences of stewardship?

What are the kinds of servants according to character described in Scripture?

What is materialism?

What are the five views of unrighteous mammon described in Scripture?

      How does materialism take control?

What are the eight kinds of servants described in New Testament Scripture?

How does stewardship reflect character?

How does materialism destroy?

Each of these questions, which every professing child of God should thoroughly and seriously consider, will be carefully examined in the light of Scripture.

FUNCTIONING BY FAITH

THE PRINCIPLE OF TITHING

THE LIFE THAT COUNTS, THE LIFE OF A DISCIPLE!
About These Notes: These notes explain the real meaning of Discipleship as The Lord Jesus Christ Himself taught it. Since The Lord Jesus Christ commanded His disciples "to make disciples (Matthew 28:19) and did not tell them how they were to do it, He must have thought they knew how. And they should have known, just as we should know how to make disciples. But how are we to know since He did not give them a manual, nor did He explain what they needed to do to make disciples.

He showed them how over a three year period of time. If we are to learn how, we must dig into (investigate) The Word of God and study the method The Lord Jesus used with His disciples, through whose ministry the whole world was reached with the Gospel and people were discipled so that in our day the process is continuing.

These notes deal with The IMPORTANCE of Discipleship (Why Disciple?), The IMPLICATION of Discipleship (What is a Disciple?), The ENLISTMENT of Disciples (Who will disciple?), and The Impartation of Discipleship (How to Disciple).

THE CONDITIONS OF DISCIPLESHIP, The Disciplined Life 1.
About These Notes: These notes explain the rigid conditions which The Lord Jesus Christ clearly taught the multitudes that He required for those who would become His disciples. This paper specifically deals with the first of three vital conditions for everyone who would desire to come after Him as one of His disciples. A disciple of The Lord Jesus Christ must be disciplined because the life that counts with Him is the disciplined life. The kind of disciplined life that The Lord Jesus Christ requires for His disciples to display begins with self-denial. But there are various aspects of self-denial. Most often when this subject, "self-denial" is suggested or comes up, immediately food or other physical activities comes to mind. But is this what Jesus meant, or is there some other meaning? Is there an example of self-denial in Scripture? Just what did Jesus mean? These questions are answered in this paper.

THE CONDITIONS OF DISCIPLESHIP (cont.), The Disciplined Life 2.
About These Notes: These notes explain the rigid conditions which The Lord Jesus Christ clearly taught the multitudes that He required for those who would become His disciples. This paper specifically deals with the second of three vital conditions for everyone who would desire to come after Him as one of His disciples. A disciple of The Lord Jesus Christ must be disciplined because the life that counts with Him is the disciplined life. The kind of disciplined life that The Lord Jesus Christ requires for His disciples to display begins with self-denial followed by Reckoning Self to be Dead. Jesus said that every disciple of His is to carry off his /cross daily!" (Lk. 9:23). This means we are to be willing to and truly go to one’s death by means of crucifixion. Just what does such a cross experience mean? How are we to experience such a death? What areas are involved in going through such an experience which Christ requires for those who will truly be His disciples? These questions are answered in this paper.

THE CONDITIONS OF DISCIPLESHIP (cont.), The Disciplined Life 3.
About These Notes: These notes explain the rigid conditions which The Lord Jesus Christ clearly taught the multitudes that He required for those who would become His disciples. This paper specifically deals with the third of three vital conditions for everyone who would desire to come after Him as one of His disciples. A disciple of The Lord Jesus Christ must be disciplined because the life that counts with Him is the disciplined life. The kind of disciplined life that The Lord Jesus Christ requires for His disciples to display begins with self-denial followed by Reckoning Self to be Dead in three areas. Jesus said that every disciple of His is to carry off his /cross daily!" (Lk. 9:23). This means we are to be willing to and truly go to one's death by means of crucifixion. Just what does such a cross experience mean? The first two areas were covered in The Disciplined Life 2. In this paper the third area, Reckoning Self to be Dead to the World is considered. How are we to experience such a death? What is involved in going through such an experience which Christ requires for those who will truly be His disciples? These questions are answered in this paper.

THE CONDITIONS OF DISCIPLESHIP (cont.), The Disciplined Life 4.
About These Notes: These notes explain the rigid conditions which The Lord Jesus Christ clearly taught the multitudes that He required for those who would become His disciples. This paper specifically deals with the fourth vital condition for everyone who would desire to come after Him as one of His disciples. A disciple of The Lord Jesus Christ must be disciplined because the life that counts with Him is the disciplined life. The kind of disciplined life that The Lord Jesus Christ requires for His disciples to display begins with self-denial followed by Reckoning Self to be Dead in three areas. The fourth rigid requirement to be disciple of The Lord Jesus Christ is Determined Steadfast Following. The word "follow" is a word with complex meaning and has several facets of meaning. What are these various nuances of meaning? Which of these facets of meaning did Jesus intend to convey to His disciples? How does this requirement that Jesus stated to His disciples apply today to you and to me? What is the context in which Jesus gave this requirement to His disciples? What is the consequence of failure to act in response to this requirement? These questions are answered in this paper.

NOTES ON HYMNOLOGY AND CHRISTIAN MUSIC
About These Notes: These notes analyze the several kinds of sacred music and emphasize the differences, the meanings, the usage, and the order of importance of the three categories of Scriptural music pleasing to and authorized by The Only True God and used exclusively in the early church. Scripture which indicates that these categories are directly related to the will of The God is carefully examined. Christian liberty or freedom does not permit action or practice contrary to the will of The God. Therefore music in the Church of The God and The Lord Jesus Christ must conform to the will of God and not to the preference of man. The importance of singing with understanding, the choice of words, and the relation of the child of God to dancing is clarified. A brief history of music's development, and music's basic definitions are presented. Then the answer is given to the question, Does music really affect me and how. What difference do the elements of music make is analyzed. Twenty-seven principles for evaluating music are presented. Finally, the question, Is music conviction or preference is posed; each is defined and the answer is directly related to lukewarm Christianity.

NOTES ON PNEUMATOLOGY: THE DOCTRINE OF THE HOLY SPIRIT
About These Notes: After opening a closed church, Dr. Wittman was invited onto the faculty of Calvary Bible Institute and assigned to teach The Doctrine of The Holy Spirit among other subjects. In preparation for the first term, He took his Strong's Concordance and examined each Scripture passage in which reference to The Holy Spirit was found. He made notations of the significance of each verse. Then he organized an outline and listed the pertinence of the Scripture references under each division, and subsequently under subdivisions and points. The result became the teaching notes in his Pneumatology classes. These were edited and updated for Seminary classes at Australian Bible Seminary.

These Notes provide a general overview of the Doctrine of The Holy Spirit with some notations and explanation on major doctrinal issues. However more detailed expository treatment of specific related subjects will be provided in the future under such topics as Soteriology (Doctrine of Salvation), Bibliology Doctrine of The Word of The God), Hermeneutics (the Discipline of Interpretation) and a study of The Seven Baptisms in The New Testament.

NOTES ON THE CUP ABOUT WHICH JESUS PRAYED IN GETHSEMANE
About These Notes: After identifying the thirteen different ways "cup" is used in Scripture, seven popular views are presented and refuted. Then the three Synoptic Gospel accounts of Jesus praying in the Garden of Gethsamane are quoted from The New Testament: A Precise Translation are quoted. These are followed by an explanation and a harmonized determination of Jesus' Garden prayer and for what He was asking, including a contrast with Matthew 4:11-13 and Hebrews 4:5-5:10. The conclusion includes a statement of the meaning of "the cup" followed by a list of eight reasons for such conclusion.

NOTES ON THE NAMES OF THE GOD:
EL ROI---THE GOD WHO CONTINUALLY SEES

About These Notes: In The Word of The God there are over 500 names, titles, and designations for The God. These pertain to The Godhead, many to The Father alone, and but all include The Lord Jesus Christ as well. Our attention is focused upon one of these Hebrew names found in Genesis. This name of The God is the translation of the second person singular pronoun and two Hebrew nouns in close proximity without a verb for emphatic expression. These three words literally mean, ‘‘The Strong One Who ever Sees.'' This is another name not only for The Living God of The Old Testament but also another name for The Lord Jesus Christ, Who is the incarnation of The Living God of The Old Testament. El Roi continually sees the afflicted. He cares, comforts, and delivers them in His time. El Roi also continually sees and searches the hearts of all the sinful, insincere, disobedient, and rebellious ones and evaluates and judges, rendering to each one according to his works and the fruit of his doings from birth to death. He sees all our secret sins and our open sins. He sees every disobedience and every going astray. But even more serious , He sees all the empty false profession that prevails today!

What was the significance of El Roi to the Old Testament saints? What is the significance to us today? What future significance does El Roi have for every human being?

NOTES ON THE NAMES OF THE GOD:
Jehovah Jíreh - The LORD Who Provides

About These Notes: In The Word of The God there are over 500 names, titles, and designations for The God. These pertain to The Godhead, many to The Father alone, and but most include The Lord Jesus Christ as well. Our attention is focused upon one of these Hebrew names found in Genesis. This name of The God is the translation of Jehovah, the redemptive and covenant name of The God in combination with Jíreh which means ‘to see to it.’ This meaning carries with it the connotation with a view to the future, thus indicating ‘to see to it before’ or to provide. The statement of this combined name indicates, ‘‘The Self-existent One Who Reveals Himself Will Surely Provide.’’ This is another name not only for The Living God of The Old Testament but also for The Lord Jesus Christ, Who is the incarnation of The Living God of The Old Testament. There are two aspects to the significance of this name: The God’s part and each human child of The God’s part. The God is always ready to provide for His faithful children who meet the stipulations of His will found in His Word. If the child of faith will obediently follow The God’s directions, Jehovah Jíreh will continually provide the exact needs of His children before they occur.

The God’s provision requires precise performance on the part of His child in three areas: ready perception to The God’s Word, respond promptly to The God’s will, and can count upon Jehovah Jíreh, The LORD Who Provides, to be faithful, surely to be with you and surely to provide if we regard the preference of The God’s will before anyone or anything else. Those who do so respond can count upon Jehovah Jíreh, The LORD Who Provides, to be faithful, surely to be with you and surely to provide!

NOTES ON THE NAMES OF THE GOD:
JEHOVAH NISSI - THE LORD MY BANNER

About These Notes: Explanation coming soon!

NOTES ON THE NAMES OF THE GOD: THE SAME
About These Notes: In The Word of The God there are over 500 names, titles, and designations for The God, which pertain to The Lord Jesus Christ as well as to The Father. Our attention is focused on one of these found in a very familiar verse of Scripture which describes The Lord Jesus Christ by a special Old Testament name for The God, Jehovah, which occurs in The Old Testament at least twenty times, eleven times in Isaiah alone. This name of The God is the translation of an idiomatic construction with two Hebrew pronouns in close proximity without a verb for emphatic expression. It is found translated from the Greek in The New Testament when the apostle Paul quoted Psalm 102:27 in his treatise to the Hebrews as "The Same." Paul used it again in that very familiar verse Hebrews 13:8. This study of that name of The God and His Christ provides blessed truth, great comfort, and lasting encouragement to the totally, persistently committed trusting, regenerated child of The God.

NOTES ON THE WAYS OF THE GOD
This series of notes explains how the regenerated disciple can experience the full blessing of The God by walking within the sphere of the limits of the ways of The God. Originally this series was developed as sermon notes for midweek Prayer and Bible Study meetings. All Scriptures must be read and elaborated upon for fuller explanation. Later this series has been used for discipleship both individually and in small groups for those disciples that have completed both HOW TO MATURE IN CHRIST, First Stage: Babes and HOW TO MATURE IN CHRIST, Second Stage: Little Children. Both methods of use will prove profitable to preachers and those discipling others and are recommended to be studied first, before attempting to use the notes for a guide to follow.

LAYING FOUNDATIONS FOR A SUCCESSFUL FAMILY LIFE

During the early teenage years of his three oldest children, Dr. Wittman and his family had a musical ministry in the tristate area. He was invited to minister at a Bible Camp weekend retreat to a group of twenty-five young adult and middle aged couples on the topic, Laying Foundations for a Successful Family Life. Years later after the children were adults, he was invited by another church to conduct a week of meetings on the same topic.

These updated notes were the basis for these series of messages and are presented to you in this form. These days in which there are many times more dysfunctional families than there were ten and thirty-five years ago, there is a greater need for the Truth expressed in these seven sermons. It is hoped that numerous pastors will download these and preach the content to their congregations whether they adopt these outlines or adapt them to their own styles. Happy Heralds also commends them to fathers, who desire to preserve a spiritually functional family, to study these outlines and present this material broken down into small portions to their families at the family altar if presently being conducted daily. Or to begin a family altar using these outlines broken down into portions which could stretch out to three or four weeks.
